Hey. I'm David Pires, a photographer and video creator from the sun-kissed region of Algarve, Portugal. Having a visual artist mother and a ceramist father, I had a childhood full of art and culture. 

Inspired by my background, I moved to Lisbon at 18 to study Audiovisual and a master degree in Communication Design. Between the two, I studied in Helsinki for five months, where I got to know a culture that had always fascinated me, and had an experience that gave me a new perspective on creativity, photography and visual arts.

As I entered the industry, I discovered an affinity for the digital agency space, as a digital designer and photographer. However, it was my love for capturing moments that ultimately steered me towards the path of full-time photography. Recently, I also had the wonderful experience of being a guest professor at university, where I had the opportunity to teach enthusiastic young people what I know about the the industry, its processes and the fields I studied.

Now, I specialize in adventure, lifestyle, and travel photography. My work focus on weaving together captivating stories with a macro vision. By blending the commercial aspects of my craft with an authentic touch, I aim to create images that resonate with viewers on multiple levels.

Currently based in Lisbon, I find inspiration in the company of my wife, Maria, and our son, Xavier. When I'm not behind the camera, I can be found surrounded by books, exploring new paths on my gravel bike, cooking delicious food and indulging in the refreshing sweetness of watermelon.
