Guincho, Portugal

I only knew Guincho's beach by name, and I knew it was a beach chosen by surfers. I always have the feeling that these kind of beaches are uncomfortable with their strong winds and rough seas. But I was not at all prepared for the coulors, light, and textures of this place.

To see the golden, winding dunes with the Serra de Sintra as a backdrop and the contrast of all with the blue waters, made me soon forget any preconceptions I had regarding Guincho beach. I just want to go back there for another afternoon like this.
