S. Miguel, Azores
We rented a BMW and roamed the lagoons. This could be the description of our visit to the island of S. Miguel in the Azores, because deep down this was the truth. There is no better way to visit the island than to try to go through the largest number of lagoons you can find and all the routes that connect them.
S. Miguel is a pretty small island: it looks like a garden with 744 square kilometres. It can be crossed in a few hours, but it takes at least several days to really get to know it, and you will leave feeling that you missed a lot.
